A beautiful day out at Bannerghatta National Park

Bannerghatta National Park which is located near Bangalore – India, is one of the popular tourist destination in Bangalore which includes a Safari park, a Zoo and a Butterfly Park. A variety of animals to be looked after here in this National park or Biological Park.

Last Sunday I have visited Bannerghatta Nation Park and I must say the experience is one of a kind. I have reached Bannerghatta National Park around 12:00 PM and since it was a Sunday a lot of people came to visit it, as I said it is one of the popular tourist destination in Bangalore. It took me nearly 20 minutes to get the tickets. There are three types of entry

  1. Grand Safari which includes Tiger, Lion, Bear & Herbivore Safari + Zoo
  2. Butterfly Park
  3. Zoo

In the Grand Safari visitors were taken around the forest in a well caged AC/ Non AC mini-bus to view animals who were left free in the forest and I have taken that package. I had to wait more than 1 hour in a queue for the mini-bus. The total distance of Grand Safari is 16km and it takes around 50 minutes to 1 hour to complete the Safari.

At first, the Safari will take you the Herbivorous section which comprises of animals like deer, elephants and few monkeys here and there.

On the return of the safari I got down at the Butterfly Park but since I did not have a lot of time I skipped it and went directly to Zoo. In the Zoo there were a variety of Reptiles, Birds and Mammals are displayed in captivity. The main attraction were White Peacock, Rhinoceros, Elephants, Zebras, Crocodiles, Monkeys in the zoo area.
